This is a great topic. I only recently got into Digital DJing so had an opportunity to start from scratch, but didn't think it through well.
I have since done a big re-organisation and here is what I have done:
I save all of my music on my Main Desktop PC in a folder called Dance Tunes. I did consider saving this on my NAS, but was worried it could take longer to sometimes.
I have a Back up Synch job that copies changes to the folder to a USB HD and I have a similar synch to synch to my Macbook so all my songs are local to the device I am using.
The folder is (now) in a simple format so based on Sub Genres of what I used to call Techno. For example:
House
Prog House & Trance
Deep House
Minimal
Breaks
Old Skool
And so on. However, the key for me to keep it organised is that I copy these folders to Serato so the structure is the same (the odd sub crate) but I also copy some songs in serato to multiple folders as many electro house is equally progressive house.
I don't do by BPM as if I am djing I will be only doing Breaks (around 135) or Prog (around 128) and almost never change BPM more than a little.
This will not work for some, but I hope some find it useful.
The key for me is that my DJIng music folder is structured almost the same as the serato crates.

by Steve Siercks, Jordan Streiff, & Chris Rogers computer news with the teen perspective Want To Be Your Own DJ? New MegaSeg Update! by Steve Siercks September 28th, 2000 Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks iTeen article. I would like to start off this weeks edition with an apology regarding last weeks article entitled 'Will the Real iBook Please Stand Up?'. There were a few errors throughout the article, but the main one was the mistake on the different colors of the new iBooks. Instead of the three colors being Indigo, Tangerine, and Graphite the new colors are Indigo, Key Lime, and Graphite. I thank all of you who e-mailed me or posted a message on our forums about the mishap. This problem of revision should not happen again anytime soon, and if it continues I encourage all of the readers to e-mail me about it and yell at me ;). Now that I have cleared my slate, lets get on to this weeks article.. [Editor's Note: The true responsibility resides with me of course. My apologies to Steve and iTeen readers for not catching it!] This week's article is an updated review on a piece of software that is loved here at iTeen. That software is a DJing solution by Fidelity Media entitled MegaSeg. MegaSeg is a very easy to use and easy to learn tool that allows anyone from professional DJs to casual music listeners to program their music selections on an easy pull down menu and play them with ease whenever they wish. Since our first review of MegaSeg back at iTeen Online, they have improved many of the components that help make MegaSeg run and this article is an update to see how the piece of software is doing and where it is going to go. The Basics Before getting into the new aspects of MegaSeg, or if you did not read our first review of the program, let us take a moment to review the basics. MegaSeg is a basic music playback program that allows users to customize play lists to their liking. After customizing the play list, all you have to do is press 'segue' and the rest is up to the program. After each song is over, it 'segues' into the next song using a customizable fade in and out time and starts the new song right after that. So, basically all you have to do is customize the music you want to listen to and let the rest be up to the wonderful makers of MegaSeg. Some other basic components are a pitch adjuster, logable play lists, master volume control, and finally the ability to program intro times and fade in/out times. Those are just the basics of MegaSeg, now lets check out what the guys over at Fidelity Media have come up with to make the program even better. The New Stuff There have been so many improvements to this program since iTeen Online first did their review almost a year ago that we can't go over all of them, so we have chosen the top 3 improvements to explain to you. The first is the ability to now import either CD tracks (using your CD-ROM drive) or import MP3 files (which have become one of the coolest and more controversial ways to listen to music). The next added improvement to this arsenal of additions is a master volume control on the main display. It used to be that there was no way to control the volume from MegaSeg itself, so one would have to close the program (or at least shrink it), go over to the apple menu and turn down the volume that way. Now there is a slider knob right off to the right hand side of the main menu bar that allows you to control how loud the music you're listening to comes out through your speakers is. This comes in handy when your moms yellin' at you to 'turn that damn music down' and you're to lazy to go through all that hassle of closing the windows and such. So, now its much easier to do so and I think that was one of the best improvements of the program even though it was a small one (hey, big things come in small packages, you better believe it! hehe). https://generousweekly147.weebly.com/teamviewer-instant-support-mac.html. Purity ring flood mp3 download 320 full. The last improvement that is going to be discussed on this update is the added bundle of N2MP3, which has become one of the easiest ways to get CD tracks converted into MP3 format. This comes in handy because when Napster (and other such search engines) finally shut down, there will be no way easy way to download MP3s and you will have to, without the use of N2MP3 to upload huge CD files. Now that the cool guys over at Fidelity Media have bundled this new conversion program with the program, it will be much easier to use smaller files (especially if you are on an older Mac). With these three additions alone MegaSeg has become a better program, but keep in mind that these are not the only three additions that have come about. There are many more that are out there now and many more that are still gearing up to come out. Uses of MegaSeg You may be thinking this is a really cool program but you wouldn't have any time or need to use it. Well my friend, you're wrong. MegaSeg is a program that anyone could use and anyone should use. Here are some examples of people like you that may want to think about purchasing MegaSeg: 1) The Professional/Amateur DJ- This is a person that either does some professional DJing or even just DJs every once in awhile for a friends party, etc. They will enjoy the many aspects of MegaSeg because it has a very easy-to-use interface, is basically meant for professional DJs, and also is capable of running thousands of MP3s. Also, it has a search program that allows you to categorize and also search for different MP3s. So, in this regard, the professional/amateur DJ would greatly appreciate MegaSeg as a whole. 2) The Casual Music Listener- Even though this type of person isn't a DJ or even wants to be a DJ, they still will find MegaSeg most suitable for their purposes. This is a person who likes to listen to music without having to keep on switching CDs or even opening and closing different MP3s with long pauses in between. Since MegaSeg offers a play list that is easy to customize, it is great because the casual listener could just set up their play list and listen for hours at a time without having any long pauses between music breaks which become annoying very quickly. Both of these types of people would greatly appreciate MegaSeg. Even if you don't fit into these two categories, I am sure that you would still appreciate what this program has to offer. It is just one of those things that caters to everyone, if you are willing to buy it (more on that a little later). The Final Verdict MegaSeg, as you know by now, is a very versatile and outstanding program. It performs excellently and rarely has a glitch (I have had it for about a year now and haven had one problem with it). If you are interested in getting an MP3 player that also allows you to do many other things with it, MegaSeg is definitely for you. The only problem is the price, which has changed since last time, but is still very expensive. If you are willing to pay the price, which I was, and want to listen to great music with ease, Mega Seg is something you should go out and buy right now. If you would like more information on MegaSeg, check out their website . Also, if you have any questions or comments about this article or any other article that iTeen writes, feel free to e-mail me.
